TEAM
Gerry TimmCEO/Executive ProducerGT Artistry was founded in 2009 by Minneapolis resident and creative enthusiast, Gerry Timm when a studio was acquired to accommodate rehearsals for ensuing GT productions. As a retired U of M medical engineering professor, Gerry’s life-long dream of creativity materialized in the “Ages and Stages” cohort, formed after he attended a few dance labs at Bryant Lake Bowl Theater. This was followed by a well-received debut dance performance at the 2013 Minnesota Fringe Festival, an event Timm would often frequent in the past as a spectator. Gerry’s creative journey would seemingly culminate around creating and starring in the modern dance collaboration and GT Artistry production “PIE EQUALS SQUARE,” performed at the Crane Theater in Minneapolis and run over nine days at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018. While a lot of the creative focus at GT Artistry has shifted, Gerry’s passion for dance is still brewing.

Hans KrugerOperations Manager/CreativeHans’ childhood passion for creativity materialized through making visual art and VHS productions for fun as a child. This developed into a passion for music by learning to play guitar during his teenage years, and producing songs through early adulthood. As a former founding member and performer with the Twin Cities group “Black Market Brass,” and as a solo artist, Hans has collaborated with various local and national artists. Hans started working at GT Artistry in 2014 and collaborated closely with local choreographer Paula Mann and Gerry developing the sound score and producing “Pie Equals Square" from 2016 to 2018. PIE EQUALS SQUARE (modern dance) 2018
As a feature length modern dance production, Pie Equals Square gazes satirically on one man’s struggle to explode his own mind. A mad inventor tries to apply logic to the absurd and abstract.
A structural feat that constantly evolves and folds in on itself, Pie challenges the timeline of our shared existence. Choreographer Mann’s idiosyncratic, whimsical post-post modernist movement combined with composer Kruger’s melodic, soulful sound score provides the perfect counterpoint to our inside-out rollercoaster world.
